蚕の社 三柱鳥居
The Mikage Shrine's Sankyo Torii, known as one of the "Three Rare Torii in Kyoto," is the most unique among them. There are eight of these Torii across Japan, with this one being the most famous due to its unique shape and the cultural significance of Kyoto.
The shrine, also known as Kono Shrine, is often referred to as "Kouno no Yashiro" due to the sericulture deity Kouno. It features a Shimmei Torii at its entrance, with a worship hall and main hall built in the Meiji period surrounded by large trees.
To the west of the main hall is a smaller Shimmei Torii leading to Moto-Tadasu Pond, where a stone Sankyo Torii stands, built in 1831.
