Yahiko Shrine - Tatsuno Town

Yahiko Shrine, located at the border of Shiojiri City and Tatsuno Town, appears to be connected to Ono Shrine, giving the impression of being the same shrine.
It is said to have long been revered by the imperial family as the general guardian of the Kamiina District.
The shrine grounds are surrounded by a stone wall and feature a Myojin Torii to the east and a Yasukuni Torii to the south.
Upon passing through the torii and the thick cedar grove, the first structure seen is the Kaguraden, built by Tatekawa Tomimasa.
This large building is open at the front and enclosed with lattice doors and windows at the back, resembling the Kaguraden of the Shimosha Akimiya.

The Chokushiden, built behind the Kaguraden, is estimated to be a late 17th-century structure.
Though it resembles a Shikyakumon gate, it features a high-floor style interior.
This unpainted wooden building includes a crest-engraved carved frog leg on the central reinforcement and uses cloud-shaped decorations on the ties.

Behind the Chokushiden stands the Haiden.
Its design is very similar to Suwa Taisha's upper and lower shrines, featuring a central gate-like structure and open-fronted corridors on both sides.
Both the Haiden and corridors are unpainted wooden structures.

The corridors are simple structures, but the Haiden features numerous large and intricate carvings, such as waves and cranes on the Kohaigikyo, waterfalls and turtles on the side panels, and waves and carp on the main facade transom.
The structure is large and impressive, with detailed carvings.
