智児神社
2043 Yamagiwa, Inatomi, Tatsuno Town, Kamiina District
Chigo Shrine is located in Inatomi along National Route 153, the Sanshu Kaido.
The shrine is nestled between mountains on both sides, with the shrine itself built against the backdrop of a mountain.
The entrance features a stone torii gate, and the pathway leading to the shrine is flanked by expansive grounds on either side.
In front of the shrine stands two pillars, and upon ascending the stone steps, you reach the worship hall.
The hip-and-gable roof of the worship hall features a gabled porch at the front entrance, and the offering box is uniquely set into the floor with a grating on top.
The protective structure over the main hall has a plaque indicating its construction date, matching the main hall's construction year.
The entire structure features intricate carvings of flowers and birds, typical of the plain wooden architecture from the Horeki era.
