Tenaga jinja

6373-2 Inatomi, Tatsuno Town, Kamiina District

Tenaga Shrine is built on the site of Haba Castle, near Tenryu River in Tatsuno Town, close to Suwa Lake.
The castle remnants include outer and inner moats, with a strategic location featuring mountains to the east, north, and south.
From a distance, the large shrine grove is visible, but narrow roads make it challenging to reach.

Haba Castle was built by the Ogasawara clan about 450 years ago during the Sengoku period.
It fell to the Takeda clan, then Oda clan, before being abandoned around the start of the Edo period.

Tenaga Shrine merged with Akiba Shrine in 1910 and was built in 1717 by local carpenter Maruyama Shozaemon.
The main hall, featuring unique wooden structures and decorative elements, is housed within a covering structure, making detailed external viewing difficult.
It is one of Tatsuno Town's older constructions and is designated as a cultural property.
