大和泉神社
2462 Minamiminowa Village, Kamiina District
Yamato Izumi Shrine is located alongside National Route 88 in Minamiminowa Village, overlooking the Southern Alps.
The shrine, surrounded by a few houses and a forest, is a quiet place, rebuilt in 1839 after being destroyed by fire.
At the entrance stands a wooden Ryobu torii gate, and directly in front is the worship hall, featuring a hipped gable roof.
The main hall, housed within the rear shelter, is a single-bay Nagare-zukuri style crafted by Oguchi Naoshiro of the Tachikawa school.
The front gable features a Karahafu gable, with bamboo grove carvings of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove on the wall panels, and sculptures of Xu You and Chaofu on the side panels.
Characteristic of Oguchi Naoshiro's work, which often includes many human-centered carvings, the central beam of the gable front features Fei Zhangfang, a Taoist immortal, and a Kirin carved within the Karahafu gable.
Next to the shelter, there is the Kasa Mori Inari Shrine. Though the exact construction date is unknown, it is believed to be the work of Hara Chokuhachi.
The shrine is known for its intricate and detailed craftsmanship.
