高烏谷神社

Mount Takaodani rises on the east side of Komagane City. The entrance to the shrine's approach is at the trailhead. Located at the boundary between Ina City and Komagane City, the shrine was enshrined as a local deity. A stone torii stands beside the road leading from Komagane City to Kasan Pass. The approach starts about 3 kilometers from there into the mountain, featuring a pine avenue over 400 years old, designated as a natural monument of Nagano Prefecture.

The shrine is famous for the "Arrow Dedication Ceremony" held during the autumn festival, designated as a cultural property of Komagane City. The long, narrow precinct where the ceremony is held begins at the entrance, with a hand-washing basin on the right and a worship hall at the top of the stone steps. The wooden walls contain metalwork shaped like swords.

The main hall is built within an enclosure that includes the worship hall. Created by the second-generation Tatekawa school carpenter, Tomimasa, the building is adorned with large wooden carvings, made entirely of plain zelkova wood without coloring.
