Konpira Shrine stands beside a village along Tsugane Pass, leading from Takato Town to Chino City.
The area around Tsugane Pass features valleys with shrines dotting the slopes, serving as guardian shrines for the district.
Konpira Shrine is located on a mountainside, surrounded by fields and several houses, away from the main road.
The shrine, built by Tachikawa Washiro Tomimasa, features a hinoki bark roof with intricate carvings on the nageshi and wooden brackets.
It remains a testament to Tomimasa's architectural skill at the age of 63.
