護老神社
1194 Miyano Maegaito, Beppu, Kamigou, Iida City
Goro Shrine, located in Kamigou Beppu, Iida City, enshrines three deities as a former village shrine.
Originally called Hachiman Shrine Three Shrines when established in 1677, it was renamed Goro Shrine in 1866.
Next to the shrine grounds is a children's hall, with a torii gate standing beside the playground.
The worship hall is a common hirairi gabled structure seen in the Iida City vicinity.
The main hall is located within the covering structure behind it.
While it is difficult to see the detailed interior of the main hall, it resembles Mikawa-style architecture, featuring numerous carvings.
The central section is adorned with carvings of peonies and lion dogs, while the side panels feature carvings of pine, turtles, bamboo, and cranes, reflecting the shrine's distinctive style.
