春日神社
Kasuga, Achi Village, Ina District
Kasuga Shrine is located along Route 153, on the border between Iida City and Achi Village. It was founded in 1192, when it enshrined deities from Kasuga Taisha in Nara. From the main road, stone steps lead up to the first torii gate, and the path continues through the second torii gate to the shrine buildings. The spacious grounds feature lanterns and are well-maintained by the local community.
The worship hall is connected to the main hall by a gabled structure, typical of the region. Lattice windows allow a glimpse inside. The main hall is a large three-bay nagare-zukuri style structure, built in 1735. Notably, the carvings on the gable are intricate and eye-catching.
The shrine grounds include several small shrines in addition to the main worship hall and main hall, indicating its integral role in the community's daily life.
