Ono Shrine, the ichinomiya of Musashi Province, is located in Tama City.
It is revered as one of the six major shrines of Musashi and is said to have moved repeatedly due to the flooding of the Tama River.
The enshrined deity, Amatsuharahiko-no-mikoto, is considered the ancestral god of the Chichibu region.
According to the shrine’s tradition, it was founded in 532 BCE during the reign of Emperor Annei.
Both entrances of the shrine feature a zuishinmon gate, and the torii gates and shrine buildings are adorned with the chrysanthemum crest.
The worship hall is an irimoya-zukuri style building, painted entirely in a bright red color, which is also applied to the main hall behind it.
The main hall, surrounded by a tamagaki fence, is a nagare-zukuri style building.
The front features three doors and measures three bays by two bays.
The roof is adorned with five katsuogi and chigi.
