小野神社
3-19-3 Sumiyoshi-cho, Fuchu City, Tokyo
Ono Shrine located in Fuchu City.
Across the Tama River in Tama City stands the Musashi Province's Ichinomiya Ono Shrine, which is said to have moved back and forth between Tama City and Fuchu City due to the river's floods.
The enshrined deity, Ametaka Haru no Mikoto, is the ancestral god of Chichibu province. According to shrine tradition, it was founded during the reign of Emperor Annei in 532 BC.
The Ono Shrine in Tama City has a grand entrance gate and spacious grounds, while this Ono Shrine in Fuchu City has a more modest torii gate and smaller grounds by comparison.
The shrine buildings consist of a plain wooden worship hall and main hall.
The main hall, painted red and surrounded by a sacred fence, is built in the Ichinomiya style with a nagare-zukuri (flowing style) architecture.
