長田神社
1047-2 Wakaho Kawada, Nagano City
Nagata Shrine is located in the Wakahogawa District of Nagano City, which was once associated with Ise Jingu. As a result, the shrine enshrines the deities of Ise Jingu and uses Shinmei-zukuri architecture.
The shrine is situated within the village, with a path extending about 500 meters across a river. The path is lined with zelkova trees, indicating the deep faith and prosperity the shrine once had.
The building itself features ridge-support pillars and chigi. The roof has been converted from thatched to iron sheets, but elements like "muchikake" and katsuogi remain. It has a three-bay front and two-bay depth, with central doors and surrounding wooden walls. Unlike other Shinmei-zukuri structures, it has ridge-support pillars and purlin posts outside the eaves, likely later additions.
