古宮神社

Furumiya Shrine is located in the Togakushi region, known for its steep slopes where houses cling to the mountainside. The shrine stands quietly within a cedar grove, a few kilometers from the central road. The area experiences cold winters with heavy snowfall, and the main hall is housed within a protective structure.

The main hall is a rare 2-ken nagare-zukuri style for a shrine dedicated to Takeminakata no Mikoto, as most Suwa shrines feature the 1-ken nagare-zukuri style. The hall is noted for its unpainted wood, with only peony, chrysanthemum, and tachibana decorations colored.

While there are no large buildings or eye-catching features, the main hall preserves the architectural style of its time as a cultural asset of the Togakushi area.
