乗鞍本宮神社

Located at the summit of Mount Norikura's highest peak, Kengamine.
Revered as a sacred mountain since ancient times, mentioned in the Nihon Shoki.
In 1181, Kiso Yoshinaka's retainer climbed the mountain, built a shrine, and enshrined a deity.
The monk Enku worshipped here in the Edo period.
The Satomiya, Itakiso Shrine, is in Takayama's Nyukawa area, and the shrine was renamed Norikura Shrine in 1928.
