横尾神社
6891 Nagano, Sanada Town, Ueda City
Yokoo Shrine is located in the Sanada town settlement, on the route from Nagano City to Ueda City via the Jizo Pass.
The shrine grounds include facilities like swings, serving as a community space. The main hall is a large worship hall with the main shrine at the back, protected by an enclosure.
The main shrine, with an 80 cm wide structure, features carvings on the front doors and side walls. These carvings are from the late Edo period, while the upper parts show colors from the Genroku period. The current shrine is believed to be a renovation of a Genroku-era building in the 19th century.
