Izuhayao Shrine was historically known as Dehaijin Shrine, dedicated to water deities. It was renamed to Izuhaya-o Shrine in 1869 and merged with Kodaijinja and Junijinja shrines in 1910. The shrine forest is designated as a cultural property by Ueda City. The main shrine building is a one-room nagare-zukuri style, built during the Kansei period, featuring carvings typical of the Saku region.
The main hall is 1.09 meters wide in a nagare-zukuri style. The construction, featuring carvings and kumimono (bracket complexes), is considered from the Kansei period (1789-1800). The use of warabite (fern head) decorations is typical of the Saku region's style. The Shinmeisha shrine housed in the shrine office is believed to have been built around the same time as the main hall.
