1402, Odaimen, Kamihirao, Saku City
Kamihirao in Saku City, where Shoboin is located.
It is said that Shoboin was built in 1532 at the behest of Hirao Morinobu, who ruled this area.
Hirao Taisha is also said to have been founded by the Hirao clan, but the details are unknown.
The path from the village to the shrine is lined with five torii gates.
All are stone Myojin torii, about 3 meters tall.
The shrine buildings are built on a slope, with the main hall elevated on a stone platform.
The main hall, built in 1575, is a one-bay nagare-zukuri style.
It features an oni-ita (demon board) on the ridge, a style common in southern Saku, with outward-facing chigi.
The entire structure is painted black and red, with thin nageshi and relatively simple carvings on the gable ornaments and wooden brackets.
