The Hachiman Shrine is located in the former Asashina Village, within the Nakasendo Hachiman Station. The shrine has two torii gates and a Zuishinmon gate from the Edo period. Behind the main hall, there is a gateball field, showing its use as a community space.
The Zuishinmon, built in the Edo period, is a rare and large gate for a shrine, resembling temple architecture. The small-sized Mizugakimon gate, compared to the Zuishinmon, lacks detailed carvings and notable features but is a cultural property of the former Asashina Village.
The Hachiman Shrine's main hall is located to the right of the Mizugakimon gate. The hall is richly adorned with carvings, including dragons on the beams, adding to its impressive appearance. The wooden construction complements the serene atmosphere of the shrine.
The sides and back of the main hall are covered with intricate carvings, including those on the brackets. The balance of the red paint and carvings makes it an impressive shrine.
