近津神社

Chikatsu Shrine is located in the Nagatoro area on the western side of Saku City, near the border with Komoro City.
Originally a village shrine, it has been a significant shrine since the early modern period.
At the entrance to the shrine grounds stands a wooden Ryobu torii gate, and within the grounds, large stone lanterns with inscriptions from Kanbun 1 (1661) and Enpō 6 (1678) can be found.

The worship hall at the front has a gabled roof, gable entry, and tiled roof.
The front of the building features a karahafu gabled roof portico.
The decorative patterns on the rainbow beam of the portico, the style of the head brace, and the carved peony openwork on the frog leg brackets indicate the period of construction.

On both sides of the worship hall, several shrine buildings are erected. Notably, the auxiliary shrines of Amaterasu Ōmikami and Shibagami Shrine on the left side are unique structures connected under one roof.

The main hall is a one-bay nagare-zukuri structure behind the worship hall.
The roof is adorned with chigi and katsuogi. The foundation is turtle belly-shaped with octagonal pillars at the base, secured with base nageshi, rail nageshi, header nageshi (with fists), and a tie beam.
The structure features de-gumi brackets with actual elbow arms and supporting rings.
The midsection has frog leg brackets with thinly carved bamboo and floral patterns.
The gable decoration includes a double rainbow beam with a large central pillar, and the upper part of the central pillar has nose-like decorations on both sides.
The eaves are two-tiered with slightly curved ground rafters.

The shrine is bright and the buildings are well-visible.
