本村海神社

Kaijin Shrine is located halfway up a small hill in Honmura District of Koumi Town, surrounded by lush greenery.
The Aiki River flows in front of the shrine grounds, near a stone torii gate.
A path leads from the torii gate, and after climbing a long flight of stone steps, the shrine grounds open up.
At the entrance is a wooden ryobu torii gate, with the main hall, a small shrine, and one lantern directly ahead.
There are no worship hall or purification trough visible.

The main hall is built on a raised stone platform, accessible from the path leading from the torii gate.
It is a two-bay kasuga-zukuri structure with a copper roof, originally covered with cypress bark.
A veranda surrounds the building, with a wider front section and a two-step wooden staircase.
The hall lacks side screens and notable carvings.
Traces of color suggest that it was once painted.
