Built on a cliff above the north side of the old Komoro Castle and Kaikoen.
During the Sengoku period, the castle's lord, the Sengoku clan, held the shrine in high regard and once granted it a stipend of 40 koku of red seal rice.
The south and west sides of the shrine grounds are high cliffs with a good view, overlooking the Tateshina town area.
The first torii near the entrance of Kaikoen is a large red Myojin torii, and a small Kashima torii is built at the top of the stone steps leading to the shrine grounds.

The shrine grounds extend to the right of the stone steps, with a large irimoya-style worship hall at the end of the approach.
Guardian dogs are placed on both sides, and the roof has a kirizuma (gabled) style with a karahafu (curved gable) extending forward.

The main hall, built in the mid-Edo period, is housed within a protective structure behind the worship hall, making it impossible to view from outside.
