八満弓神社
Nishihachiman, Yatsumata, Komoro City
Yatsumata Yumi Shrine, located in Yatsumata, Komoro City.
This area, situated on the slopes from Mount Asama, offers a panoramic view of the Saku Plain and features a steep descent from east to west.
The shrine is built facing west, down the slope, with a stone torii gate marking its entrance.
Passing through the torii gate, a long unpaved path leads to the shrine grounds.
There is only one stone torii gate facing the street, and none are found along the path.
The spacious grounds are surrounded by cedar trees, creating a very quiet space.
The main structure in front is the split worship hall (waribyousha).
Behind it are the main sanctuary and its covering structure, and these three buildings constitute the shrine's entire complex.
An old plaque bearing the shrine's name is displayed under the eaves of the split worship hall, through which visitors can pass to approach the main sanctuary.
The main sanctuary is a three-bay structure with three doors at the front.
The gable side walls and side screens are intricately carved, with lions and baku (mythical creatures) supporting the brackets, and carvings also adorning the transoms above the doors.
