Located at the southern end of Narai-juku in the former Narakawa Village, Chizu Shrine stands at the entrance to Torii Pass.
It is said to have been named Chizu Shrine after being invited from Katori Shrine in Shimousa Province to quell the epidemic.
It was worshipped as the guardian deity of Narai-juku, with a large vermilion torii gate and a kagura hall visible.

The main hall is an ichinoma-style nagare-zukuri structure housed within a covering building.
The main hall cannot be observed as it is enclosed by a wooden fence, but it is said to have carvings on various parts, including the side shoji and the eaves.
