富士浅間神社
2708 Miwa, Omachi City
Fuji Sengen Shrine, located along the road from central Shinano to the south in the former Miwa Village.
Situated in a quiet, lush green mountain area, this shrine is also surrounded by a grove of large cedar trees.
The stone torii gate at the entrance is a Ryobu Torii.
A worship hall stands directly in front of the torii gate.
Opposite the worship hall is the Kagura Hall, designated as a village treasure of the former Miwa Village.
The Kagura Hall was built by Mamen Kyubei during the Edo period.
The revolving stage installed in the hall has a diameter of 4.2 meters.
Until the mid-Meiji period, it was used for annual Kabuki performances.
The main shrine, an Ichinoma Nagare-zukuri style structure, was built in 1815 by Takakawa Toyohachi.
The shrine features numerous carvings, making it a visually impressive building, although the right-side wainscot is damaged.
