Suwa Shrine is located at the Shibutami intersection in the southern part of Ikeda Town.
A black-painted wooden Ryobu Torii stands on the east side of the shrine grounds, which are surrounded by a grove of cedar trees, making the area very bright as sunlight filters through.
Facing away from the torii, a large Kagura Hall with a gabled roof stands.
The structure's framing materials, such as braces, are exposed, and the building lacks walls.
Opposite the Kagura Hall is the worship hall, with a cover building for the Konpira Shrine on the right. The main hall is located behind the worship hall.
The Konpira Shrine cannot be seen from the outside, but it is a small shrine decorated with Osumi-style carvings.
Originally, it had no cover building, and part of its roof is damaged.
It is said to have been relocated from a hillside in Higashiyama to its current site in the late Meiji period.
The main hall, a large-scale three-bay Nagare-zukuri structure, has a frontage of 2.9 meters and a depth of 1.9 meters.
The front extension is about 1.6 meters, with a seven-step wooden staircase.
The front and both sides feature a veranda with balustrades, and jewel-shaped posts stand at the corners.
The front extension has one pillar on each side, omitting the two middle pillars.
The roof features a box ridge and double-layered rafters, giving it a sense of weight.
The front, back, and sides are adorned with carvings of Chinese stories, flowers, rabbits, birds, turtles, and waves, adding decorative beauty to the substantial structure.
