白山社大洞権現
Takenoshita, Chikuhoku Village, Higashichikuma District
Located on the mountainside of Takenoshita along National Route 277, continuing from Chikuhoku Village to Aoki Pass.
Stone steps lead from the entrance's wooden ryobu torii, and after passing through the second torii, a steep mountain path continues up to the shrine.
The worship hall, backed by a large rock, faces the kagura hall with its hip-and-gable roof. Two smaller shrine buildings are located beside the worship hall.
In Chikuhoku Village, it is common to see shrines where the kagura hall is placed opposite the worship hall.
Inside the worship hall are two shrine buildings: the main shrine of Shirayama Shrine and the main shrine of Daido Gongen Shrine.
Both are one-bay nagare-zukuri style buildings from the Tatekawa school, built in 1789.
The eaves are supported by double-layered bracket arms, and railings and sliding doors are fitted around the edges.
Wooden stairs are placed at the front, and the dragon carvings under the eaves are particularly impressive.
