八幡宮
Omoiyanagi, Minamihotaka, Toyoshina, Azumino City
Hachiman Shrine in the Omoiyanagi area of Azumino City. Surrounded by residential buildings, with a branch of the Hotaka River flowing nearby. Known for its autumn festival, where a boat-shaped float is pulled through the district. A large stone Myojin Torii gate stands at the entrance, and a Sennin Stone is placed within the shrine grounds.
The worship hall has a Hirairi-Kirizuma style. Behind the worship hall, the main sanctuary is surrounded by a sacred fence. The main sanctuary is a simple, unpainted Ichimon-sha Nagare-zukuri style building with minimal decoration, except for carvings on the Kaerumata and the upper part of the Toganuki. The front has a five-tiered wooden staircase, with a veranda extending to the sides and Waki-shoji, but no carvings. Overall, it is a simple and serene structure.
