Suwa jinja

The Suwa Shrine in Mamabe, Azumino City, features a very long approach.
A wooden ryobu torii gate is erected, leading to a spacious shrine precinct.
In front of the worship hall (haiden), there is a kagura hall with an irimoya-zukuri style facing the worship hall.
In the Azumino area, it is common to find the kagura hall either directly in front of the worship hall or on the opposite side of the precinct, making this Suwa Shrine's layout unique.
The worship hall itself is a wide structure with a gabled entrance, and the main hall (honden) is situated behind it, enclosed by a sacred fence.

The main hall is built in the ichimonsha nagare-zukuri style, with the Mizuno clan crest, a carved flower motif, adorning the front frog-leg struts.
The side doors feature the crest of the subsequent lords, the Toda clan, indicating that the main hall, originally from Hotaka Shrine, was constructed during the Mizuno era and later granted by the Toda clan.
During the relocation, the side panels were adjusted to fit the position of the front pillars of the main hall, with other features resembling those of Yoshino Shrine and Honmura Shrine in Azumino City.
