Nakamura, Minamiriko, Akashina, Azumino City
Ōmisha Shrine is located above the Nakamura district in Akashina, overlooking the village.
Surrounded by dense greenery, the entrance features a ryōbu torii gate leading to the approach path.
The shrine grounds beyond the torii gate feature a gently sloping approach leading to a large kaguraden (dance hall) with a prominent gable roof and impressive beams visible on the gable end.
Beyond the kaguraden, on a higher tier, stands the haiden (worship hall), with the honden (main hall) built on the slope behind it.
The honden, covered by a protective structure, were built in the mid-Edo period in the ichinomiya nagare-zukuri style.
There are two buildings side by side, both constructed in the same architectural style.
The right honden is noted for its prominent carvings and decorations, while the left honden is simpler with fewer carvings.
