Owari zukuri

Tsushima-zukuri Style

The *Tsushima-zukuri* is an architectural style unique to the Owari region, characterized by a symmetrical layout where the *honden* (main hall) at the rear, *haiden* (worship hall) at the front, and the *saiden* (offering hall) in between are connected by corridors.
This distinctive style can be seen at shrines like Masumida Shrine in Ichinomiya and Tsushima Shrine in Tsushima City.

Another feature of the Owari region is the presence of a short fence called a *banpe*, built between the gate and the worship hall. It is also known as *fujōyoke* (impurity barrier), *sukashi-gaki*, or *maki*.
