Kirizuma zukuri

Gable Roof Style

The gable roof, known as *kirizuma*, is a type of roof shape characterized by two sloping planes meeting at the ridge to form a triangular silhouette.
The ridge beam runs parallel to the horizontal beams that are perpendicular to the pillars.
This architectural style is commonly found in the construction of shrines and temples in Japanese architecture, as well as in townhouses that remain along historical roads.
